About Jane Perkins
I began violin in 4th grade strings at public school in the San Francisco Bay Area and went on to study music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and Notre Dame de Namur University. My teachers have included Isadore Tinkleman, Asbjorn Finess, and Avis Aasen-Hull.
I have performed as a member of Master Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra, West Bay Opera Orchestra, the Whatcom Symphony, and Santa Cruz Symphony.
I have served as principal violist in the Whatcom Symphony (recently renamed, Bellingham Symphony), and have also played in the Skagit Symphony. I was a founding member of the Cascade Ensemble and I have also performed in numerous solo recitals throughout Northwest Washington. I have been teaching violin and viola in Bellingham, WA since 1993.
